Don Bahneman, General Manager, Fitness Director, and Master Trainer

Don brings a unique blend of personal training, managerial experience, and national presenting to the Energy Club. With over twelve years of managing clubs, Don enjoys trying to bring the best for each member when they visit the club. Over the last twenty years, Don has worked with thousands of clients. Individuals from boy scout troops to 95 years of age, general fitness to cancer and Parkinson’s patients, athletes from all levels (collegiate, NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and Professional Boxing) have all seen development from time training with him. Since 2003, Don has also been presenting nationally on various fitness topics with over 250 speaking engagements.

David Les Pierre, Master Trainer

David brings 20 years of experience to the training profession.  He began learning the craft by actively immersing himself in health and fitness.  He considers training to be more than a job but rather a passion that has become a way of life.  David’s ultimate goal is to move beyond all boundaries and build a strong personal bond with each client.  He believes an individual cannot be categorized based on a predetermination of set criteria.  He strives to continuously improve and evolve his fitness knowledge base.  David’s specialties include post-rehabilitation, sports conditioning, General fitness training, and athletic training (sport specific-swimming, basketball, lacrosse, baseball)

Alexandra E. Karaer, Master Trainer

Alex has been certified as a trainer since 2002, working both as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. She has experience working with clients of all ages and varying fitness goals. She has proven success with helping clients achieve not only weight loss, but also improved strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. She is especially concerned with helping her clients develop proper mobility and lifting technique. Alex emphasizes functional movements in her programs that rely primarily on exercises rooted in gymnastics, kettlebell and barbell training. Alex encourages her clients to discover the limitless potential of their bodies, irrespective of age or athletic background.

Stevon Scott, Elite Trainer

Stevon Scott has been in the personal training/sports medicine field for over seven years and has worked with almost every type of population and condition. He holds multiple certifications. His areas of expertise include; functional explosive training, linear speed, agility, corrective exercise techniques, Olympic lifting & bodybuilding, weight management and cutting edge spinal-sheath activation techniques. He works with special populations who have severe orthopedic handicaps, post rehab individuals and enjoys working with the youth population. Stevon has been a speaker at lifestyle/health management clinics throughout Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia, and enjoys empowering his clientele through education. His own athletic experience includes wrestling, soccer and ten years on a swim team. He has also provided sports performance training for elite athletes from a wide variety of sports including Penn State and Notre Dame football.

Alexander Argueta, Master Trainer

Alex is a certified personal trainer and is credentialed through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Alex also holds certifications as a USAW Level 1 Weightlifting Coach, Strong First Girya (kettlebell) Instructor, and as a TRX Instructor. He has spent the last decade in the health and fitness industry helping clients reach their fitness goals. Alex’s expertise has given him the knowledge to tailor workouts to a broad range of ages, abilities, and athletic backgrounds. Since 2005, Alex has been a group fitness instructor teaching multiple formats including kettlebell training, TRX suspension training, spin, boot camp, and high intensity interval training.

Damon Mock, Expert Trainer

Damon has had a life long passion for health and fitness, working in the private sector for many years in support of DOD contracts. She has experience knowing what it means to serve others in a support capacity.  As a self declared people person, Damon loves to learn, build and maintain relationships that cater to a client’s individual long term desires. Whether those desires are increase nutritional knowledge, weight loss, or a specific client goal.   She has proven success with helping clients achieve their personal goals, but also improve strength, confidence, cardiovascular endurance, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Damon connects with her clients on a level that brings knowledge, enjoyment and instruction to increase the value of her clients overall fitness experience and encourages them to take their fitness goals and make them a reality.

Adrian Francis, Expert Trainer

Adrian started helping individuals become healthier in 2004.  From the knowledge he had been acquiring since his teens as a competitive athlete, he began helping small groups achieve their fitness goals simply for his own enjoyment.  Seeing how much of a difference he was able to make in an individual’s life put him on a quest for more knowledge in the fitness industry.  He has facilitated in the operation of fitness establishments, managed individual diets, worked to enhance the physical capabilities of adolescents, and of course personal trained.  Adrian came across The Energy Club by chance, but was ecstatic that he finally found a place where he would want to be personal trained by its personal trainers.   After 17 years of fitness experience and education, he found that The Energy Club’s approach to fitness, aligned with the quality of trainers on staff, was where he wanted to make his stand in the industry.  Moving forward, he wants to meet and encourage anyone who wants to be “better.”

Tal Cottey, Master Trainer

With over two decades of experience in personal training and an extensive background in fitness management and group exercise, Tal is able to help individuals of all ages and fitness levels achieve their personal goals.  He believes that success is defined as doing what you love, and loving what you do. Seeing clients achieve a fitness potential they never thought possible is what he enjoys most. Whether your goal is to improve your performance as a teenage athlete, run your fastest 5K in your forties, or maintain strength, mobility, and balance as you approach your golden years, Tal will get you there. In addition to personal training, and energetic spinning classes, Tal enjoys running innovative outdoor boot camp classes.  For those with problems such as back, knee, shoulder, or hip injuries, he will design pre and post surgical fitness plans, through collaboration with your doctor and/or physical therapist.

Brandon is a Philadelphia native raised in the Northern Virginia area. While studying Athletic Training at George Mason University, he learned to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate sports related injuries. During his time at Mason he had the privilege of working with the athletic staff and sports teams of Falls Church High School, Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes Upper School, Marymount University, and the Washington Redskins.

Personal Philosophy

Over the past decade, Brandon has followed a vegetarian diet that has become mostly vegan. He believes in and strives to help others build a stronger mind, body, and spirit through proper nutrition and physical exercise. He has helped a variety of clients achieve their fitness goals, which have included building strength, losing weight, gaining muscle mass, increasing muscle tone and definition, improving health vitals (cholesterol, resting heart rate, etc.), and rehabbing injuries. He personally enjoys focusing on strength training, building muscle mass, improving functional mobility and posture, and improving athletic performance.

Christina Smith has been working in the fitness, athletic performance, and wellness industries for over 20 years. Christina’s unique approach to training, coaching, and teaching have helped many people overcome roadblocks that have held them back from successfully achieving their training goals and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. Christina has experience as a kettlebell coach, a nutritional life coach, and is a member of the International Society of Clinical Rehab Specialists where she is working on her Rehab to Performance Certification. Christina has experience working with athletes, weekend warriors, and those who have just been discharged from a doctor’s treatment program and looking to get back to resuming active lifestyles. She communicates and motivates exceptionally well and has the skills and the knowledge to help anyone achieve their personal goals.

With her experience, Christina can help you make healthy, realistic, and sustainable lifestyle choices without the fads, quick fixes, and gimmicks – to help you improve your health for now, and for the long-term.
